Okay Guys,

With Mobin gone (to gOD knows where) it seems life has come to an almost fullstop - which he certainly would'nt have liked. Right ?

The best thing to do is get back humouring ourselves and I have just now recieved one from my friend Ed Munir in the US which I am more than pretty sure is the kind of stuff Mobin would have loved to chuckle over- theerfore keep smiling and remember Mobin wouldnt have it any other way, ONLY his way and it was LIFE IS A LAUGH!

I am so thrilled to find this being served for FREE. This is the greatest discovery I have ever made on the web.

Have you tried TotalRecorder? I believe it can record pretty much anything you want and output it as MP3.

Hope you are well. Off topic but I just wanted to share a link of a blog maintained by pop musician David Byrne (remember Talking heads?)

In one post (April 16) he talks about a kind of cultural censorship US is imposing on foreign artists as visas get refused. Byrne believes that:

"this has less to do with Homeland security and more to do with keeping the American public ignorant and free of foreign influence and inspiration. An ill-informed, isolated, ignorant populace is a populace easily manipulated. Fed a diet of reality shows coupled with faith-based reasoning (an oxymoron if ever there was one) and you have a perfect recipe for a country in which the government that can do more or less whatever it wants. Democracy becomes a farce without access to information. And culture — music, theater, dance, etc. — is information for the heart. Yes, we can still obtain news reports and recordings online, but without live performance there is a hole where there should be face to face “news” about how others live, how they love and why and what their passions are. If we are not allowed to feel the rest of the world then we can be told anything about it and not know what those people are really like. If the Other is hidden from you, then you don’t even know to ask or inquire about what it is you’re not getting — because you don’t even know it exists."

Thanks for sharing this with us. I will viist the site shortly but as far as Bangladesh artist are concerned they seem to be having really no prolem getting to the Big Apple.

Some flimy hoopla with artist from BD and West Bengal, was actually telecast LIVE from Hollywood only the day before yesterday.

Seems Byrne really wasnt talking about the great musicians from this part of the world!
